Coolants

Sta-Kool is a fully synthetic grinding fluid specially formulated for the high-speed grinding of carbide tip saw blades, steel and all types of knife alloys.

• Resists foaming and misting for improved visibility, health and safety.
  

• Cleaning and flushing properties extend wheel life.
  
• Improves work environment - does not dissolve cobalt from cemented tungsten carbide.
  
• Low-foam formula leaves the tank clear and clean.
  
• Superior corrosion resistance.
  
• Light, opaque, green fluid which, when diluted, turns clear for superior operator visibility.
  
• Controls rancidity - Additives inhibit the growth of odor-producing bacteria.
  
• Save - contains no nitrites, phenols, cresols, PCB's, harsh solvents or alkalines.

• Effectively prevents corrosion at extended dilutions (50-80:1 with water), even on polished cast iron.

Cobalt Coolants

Your customers will be asking you about "Cobalt" coolants, this includes carbide and Stellite(tm) grinders.

We have been working in the plant for the last year on a reformulated 30/30 coolant. The results are phenomenal and we have also now developed a very simple standard test for cobalt.

The goal is to have a coolant for cobalt that does not allow the cobalt to dissolve or leach into the coolant. The new 30/30 does this - the cobalt settles out and drops to the bottom of the sump.

A "Cobalt Test Strip" (like litmus paper) developed with a local lab, is now available. It is dipped into the sump to get an instant reading.

All of our grinders have been converted to 30/30 and a one gallon container is shipped with every Jacobsen grinder.
