 * CAUTION: Do not run dresser parallel with face of wheel.

 * Dresser wheel must rotate slowly to be effective.

Dress Grinding Wheels The Right Way

How to True a Wheel

 * Truing restores proper shape of wheel.
 * Hook dresser feet over tool rest.
 * Raise handle to bring cutter wheels firmly in contact with grinding wheel.
 * If sparks appear press harder on dresser.
 * Traverse cutters back and forth across wheel.

How to Dress a Wheel

 * Dressing cleans away foreign particles and exposes sharp new cutting edges.
 * Place cutter head on tool rest.
 * Firmly push dresser into grinding wheel.
 * If sparking occurs, press harder on dresser.
 * Traverse cutters back and forth across wheel.
